Photographer’s Artist Statement
Emotions; how do they dwell, what do they affect, and can we control them? These are a few questions I ask myself when approaching my artwork, primarily photography. When my photographs stir up an emotion or expression within the viewer I feel I have succeeded. How I approach a photograph varies on my mood or what aesthetically pleases my eye at that moment. Found objects or scenes I stumble upon are my favorite compositions to work with. People, places and things in their natural environment are what I look for. Not every picture needs a person to show emotion, and that is the base of my photography. |
