Valera Ainsworth is an award winning illustrator/writer currently working on a fantasy graphic novel. She has illustrated a number of books for different children's authors. Valera has also written and illustrated some of her own that she has self-published. The biggest perk of her career is working with other authors. “I had a lot of fun with illustrating the book, “I’ve Got No Teeth” by Patricia O’Gorman. Ms. O'Gorman was inspired to write this book after loosing all her teeth. I spent the whole day photographing this toothless beauty as she told me why it was so important to take care of your teeth. My recent project, “The Night of the Aliens” was very exciting. Allen Summers is a great storyteller. His focus is on Science Fiction and Fantasy.
Mr. Summers has two graphic novels, “The Doorway to Tapa”, and “The Whales of Light” to be released by Christmas. He is currently working on “How To Be Kind To Aliens” a sequel to “The Night of the Aliens” that will be a lot of fun for kids.” She has also worked as a videographer/photographer filming soldiers doing basic training in the military. This experience inspired a series of illustrations centered on the different field exercises. Valera moved from the Napa Valley in California and has been in Oklahoma the last two years rediscovering family roots. She received a journalism award for her editorial cartoons that were published in several California papers. She also earned awards from the Business Professionals of America and SkillsUSA for the animations, ‘Joker’s Wild’ and ‘Future Games’. |
